BCH sets JV to foray into Myanmar

Thailand’s telecommunication firm Benchachinda Group (BCH) has partnered with four firms and local partner to set up Myanmar Information Highway Limited (MIH) to foray into Myanmar, according to the statement on the company’s website.
This joint venture will focus on building broadband service in Myanmar. Four partners comprise UIH International Co Ltd, ALT Telecom Co Ltd, United Distribution Solution Co Ltd, and A&F Communication Co Ltd.
“MIH is to provide international-standard broadband services in Myanmar. At present, it has already won the rights-of-way to lay down fibre-optic network from Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation. MIH will start the infrastructure installations in authorised zones,” said BCH’s president Vichai Bencharongkul.
In the first year of the investment, installations will take place in Yangon before expanding further to other major economic cities, he cited in the statement.
Operating telecom business for 55 years, Benchachinda Group currently has four core businesses, which are broadband, network solutions, distribution, and content.

CCP plans to seal two JV deals this year

Thailand’s listed concrete product manufacturer Chonburi Concrete Product PCL (CCP) expects to close two joint venture deals this year, Infoquest reported on Thursday.
One will be co-invested with an overseas partner , which will require the investment of 200-300 million baht. The other deal will be made with local partner; the details are yet to be finalised.
CCP’s managing director Arthit Taweepkornsukasem did not disclose the details of the deals, but said that they would be related to the compay’s existing products.
The company was targeting a revenue growth of 10 per cent earlier this year. This has been revised due to country’s sluggish economy and delay in infrastructural projects. The revised projection is now 2.67 billion baht, same as last year.
